Gary Creely

Founder

Gary's interest in knives started as a little kid, especially in middle school, when he lived near a river and fished on many summer days. The need for a knife was plentiful for all kinds of tasks on the river and off. By college, Gary became more interested in materials science advancements in blade steels, especially as highlighted by various Spyderco models. From childhood on, he was proficient at sharpening. The only thing he regrets about knife-making is not starting sooner.

Douglas P. Chapman

Steel Removal Specialist

Doug serves a variety of roles at Creely Blades, but the most prolific task is grinding CU series blades. If you have a folklore or omnivore, there is a good chance Doug ground the primary bevel of your knife. Doug actually began knife making in the early 2000s and was employed by Spyderco when he lived in Golden, Colorado. For obvious reasons, Doug is especially fond of Spyderco knives and all knives in general.

Everett Creely

Sharpening, surfacing, and assembly

Paul is no stranger to blades, being a collector since he was young. Paul has made a bit of a career change that has brought him into the world of one of his passions: knives. Paul does a lot of the sharpening, especially of the PG series. If you have a Mako or a Minnow, there's about an 80% chance that Paul sharpened it. Paul does a lot of assembly and shipping prep to get the knives out the door.
